PC Manufacturers Displease

Windows 8 To Windows 10

There have been voices aplenty suggesting that Microsoft is thinking about offering a free Windows 8 to Windows 10 upgrade, although not everybody is pleased with this kind of strategy.
Even though nothing is official in this regard, yet.
Windows 10 was on the last day of September, and the Windows 10 Technical Preview at the start of the month, but through it all Microsoft hasn't talked concerning the pricing scheme of its next generation operating system.
But a free lunch could cause problems for hardware sellers, and have a significant impact on new PC sales. Some OEMs have even expressed this discontent on this. Privately, naturally.
All this comes from this that reveals that notebook makers in particular have taken a tiny pessimistic approach about Windows 10, considering that this kind of promo is simply a doubled edged sword for the sector.
They believe that no one would actually have a have to purchase new hardware this way.
Reasonable point, perhaps, but does anyone expect people that recently bought new Windows 8 desktops, laptops and even tablet computers to upgrade to newer versions this easily?
Windows 8 hardware sales have really just begun to pick up, it must be said.
Regardless, Microsoft really have to work this out the correct manner, find the best equilibrium. Which is to say lending a little hand to the hardware vendors, while convincing the current user base to upgrade.
Easier said than done.
